Agreed - very good perspective brought by Altimore. It sheds the light on many things, including why conference realignment occurs relatively slowly. Nice to see UConn getting some academic love, which is certainly going to assist our potential conference application(s) down the road.
Agree with his arguments that athletic membership and conference payouts are in the tens of millions while research dollars and overall university anbual budgets are in the billions....
We just have to keep increasing academics, research grants, and athletic/football especially profiles and eventually we will find a home for all aspects to further flourish.
