Since we need some new realignment "content" to fill the board, think of it this way. Right now, we're not really in a conference. We are essentially independents, along with Rutgers, Louisville for sure, and Cincy. We're all sitting by the phone waiting for it to ring. Hello? Yes this is Mrs. Jurich. Tom! It's the Big 12! Hurry to the phone. Uconn to ACC. RU to B1g. No one wants to be here. So we really are not in a conference right now. If we were in a conference, and we partnered up with Boise State, BYU, UH, SMU, UCF, AFA, NAVY, Memphis, Temple - some type of 14 to 16 team conference, we would divide into East and West divisions, and, along with the Catholics, be a very good conference for basketball, and a pretty good conference for football. Probably the 6th best, but no worse than we have been over the last few years at any rate. And there would be strong content. Plentiful content. Bidding for Big East basketball and football would be strong among the networks come next September. All would be well. Problem is, none of the BE remnants want this enough to stop hoping and praying. We are all hoping and praying that the fairy godmother shows up and wisks us off to fairyland. While we are all hoping and praying, things are happening around us that we can't help determine. We are waiting for things to happen, either to us or for us.
