Obviously, one can argue the weighting and particulars of any of the criteria, but I thought that this article was worth a read.

UConn comes in at 48th of 129 behind Purdue, Rutgers and Maryland.

I'd give us a higher score in "other sports success" but it's in the ball park.

How exactly do we trail Rutgers in football success and academics? Flawed system. I reject this ranking.

There is no way BC is ranked higher than l'ville, nc state, kansas and colodado. academics are given way to much credit in this assessment...

rutgers is aau and last year even tho we beat them they had a pretty record compared to us. there tv mk is worth a lot and its just to funny that its worth so much but confs wont touch them becuase the ad is so bad overall. what needs to be taken here from this is if some 1 does a past 5 years thing for each school based on academics/fball/bball/other sports/market etc...uconn is a top 40 school easy. thats crazy consideing we played flag fball 15 years ago. the future is bring and more and more ppl by the day are taking notice. every time u drop a uconn line on another forum, fans who used to care less take notice at worst. it helps perception wise.

Markets were factored separately. They won. I have no qualms with that.

My problem is that while Rutgers may be AAU, that doesn't necessarily make them a better school. Dartmouth is not AAU. Arizona is. Is a Rutgers degree worth more than a Dartmouth degree? Is it as devalued as an Arizona degree? No and no.

As for football, they played the first ever college football game and followed it up with 100+ years of mediocrity at best. They've never so much as won a share of a Big East title. We havent' been around long at all at this level and we have more hardware.

please don't confuse my challenge with me actually thinking highly of rutgers. but for that rankings thing, the writes took ruty vs uconn academics wise and said they are close, but ruty has aau and thats what the b10 wants so bam....thats all.
