Interesting formula applied. UCONN tied at 58th w/Boston College, Boatz n Hoez, Cinci, the Fruit, and Vanderbilt, to name a few (ahead of Rutgers and LCC).

This formula was applied taking mostly Paul Pasqualoni's tenure into account. It would have been interesting to see where UCONN ranked before that train wreck was hired.

2014 = the year where the Rent is RE-established as one of the best home field advantages in the country! #HuskyUp

2013: 2-5
2012: 3-3
2011: 4-3
2010: 6-0
2009: 4-2
2008: 4-2
2007: 7-0
2006: 3-4
2005: 4-2
2004: 6-1
2003: 5-1

Since the Rent opened: 48-23, even P had 7 of his 10 wins at home. BC hasn't won a big game at home since Gordon beat the Irish. Edsall was 39-12 at the Rent.

And, Steele's formula is bunk. It's a metric of stadium capacity and ticket sales reported by the schools. About a far from scientific as it gets. How about measuring home record vs. overall record against the average variance nationwide, genius?

Wasn't that at Notre Dame Stadium? I'm too lazy to look up because, honestly, I don't care where/when BC played ND. But I do vaguely remember the game because his father owned the Whalers at the time and I devoured any news with a Whalers' connection back then.

But yeah, the Rent has been one of the better (and underrated) home-field advantages in the country. I'd like to see a few more undefeated or 1-loss home records return to the norm. Last year's 2-5 home record is unacceptable.

You're right that was at Notre Dame. I remember stories of the students ripping down one of the goalposts and leaving it at his dorm room. Was the Flutie game at home? It may just be that BC has never won a big game at home.

Even some of those 4-2 seasons under Edsall were done with below average teams. Thanks Pitt and Louisville, you sucked.

If my memory isn't failing me I watched the actual kick in the Civic Center concourse at a Whalers game.

Throw out the P years, that was an aberration.

Look at our RENT record in years when we had quality coaching combined with competent QB play and this is what you get:

2010: 6-0
2009: 4-2
2008: 4-2
2007: 7-0
2004: 6-1
2003: 5-1

32 wins 6 losses.

I expect that this year we will have quality coaching and competent QB play.

The formula even held up last year, in the two home games where we had quality coaching and competent QB play we were 2-0.

The Flutie game was definitely played at Miami's Orange Bowl. I remember Flutie in an away white jersey.

The Rent has always been a good home field advantage for UCONN. Getting back to winning at least 4-5 games a year at home is a great way to back on track for bowl games. This year's home schedule is very challenging with BYU, Boise, UCF and Cincinnati all at home this year. If we take care of the home games that are more favorable (Stony Brook, Temple and SMU) and pull out 2 of those 4 challenging games, then our road schedule is actually quite manageable. 6-7 wins is very possible and it all starts with re-establishing the Rent as a top home field advantage for our Dogs.

His formula only produced 15 different results. Cool list?
