Huh, Saturday radio with Kiper and Golic. Surprising to me all the way around.
If I recall correctly, Edsall was on ESPN radio quite a few times when he was coaching at UConn. Of course, we were in a better conference. I don't know about Diaco.
.....to talk Detroit Lions playoff game.....
No way he talks UCONN. Too busy with the Lions.
After Mrs. G's little Twitter eruption following Diaco's firing that should be interesting.
Consumed and busy Saturday AM with work related ...Any way possible to get tape or get a replay ???
Listen to 97-9 ESPN Radio Live - Hartford’s Sports Leader
Randy spills the beans on what his job at Detroit really meant.
"A little bit of everything." Evaluating free agents, college draft possible, special game situation plans for Jim Bob Cooter, assisting with time management and reviewing plays during the game for possible coach's challenges.
How many ways can you be WRONG..
I'll say this he sounds sincere and excited. Answered questions about his son very well. Good line about how he relates to the kids
Nothing much said
Talked about Lions then touched on bringing back UConn to where it was and beyond, 25 NFL players from UConn and finally about coaching with his son Corey at UConn
maybe 10 minutes - no more
Positive feed back from Dari and Mel.
Funny how time changes perception. At the time UConn made it to the Fiesta Bowl it was all about what's wrong with the bowl system that UConn made it, the ticket sales, etc.
Now, it's like damn, UConn made the Fiesta Bowl under Randy Edsall. This can be a legit program again.
Otherwise, standard blurbs about players in the NFL, Rent can become a tough place to play and having his kid work for him.
Some good publicity.
Guaranteed he'll be a much better game day manager than Coach Diaco.
Listening to Mel Kiper talk about what UConn football was and can be again, gets me pumped up. Good job by RE. No doubt that RE is highly respected by those that know college and NFL football.
No coach info - nutin honey!
Did help to appreciate the further education he got with the Lions.
I'm glad he referenced the RGIII quote that the Rent was the loudest stadium he ever played in during his collegiate career. We need to get back to that kind of attendance, excitement and home field advantage.
Make UConn football great again!
Make Football At UCONN Great Again! MFAUGA!
Where do I get my MUFGA tee shirt?
Love me some MUFGA!!
Kiper has always been fair, if not good, to UConn. While not a huge fan of Golic, I don't hold him responsible for his mom being an idiot on twitter.
Love me some MUFGA with swiss and mustard on sourdough.
Let's ask the Syracuse folks who their printer is. I'm sure they have one on retainer.
Did they happen to mention of our 2017 draft prospects and where Kiper sees them?
How could anyone be worse!!!!!!!!!!!! Impossible!!!!!!!!!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Time management is good for a game a year. I remember how incredulous Neuheisel was after the Navy debacle. For coaches that continually had a problem with game situations he said that there's no excuse. This is something you can spend months during the offseason studying and correct your deficiencies. It's the coach's responsibility to do his homework. I get the feeling Bob Diaco never did his homework on that part of the game.
Or he lost his composure. I think Bob had trouble thinking on his feet. I believe he would be a 1000x better Monday morning QB than anyone here. For whatever reason, despite all his experience, he just couldn't do it on the sideline.
