1. The crowd that was present was into the game & supportive until the wheels came off in the 3rd quarter.
2. It seemed the balloon burst when the offside was called on the recovery touchdown to start the 2nd half.
3. Five games with an offensive turnover to start a game? pitiful.
4. Kudos to the Temple coaching staff. Played it close to the vest in the first half, getting UConn to play 8 in the box. In the second half, taking what the UConn D. gave them. First the deep td to a wide open receiver Then, when UConn starts respecting the deep ball, passing in the area between the lbs & dbs. (which was cavernous). Throw in some sideline passes to keep the defense honest & the scoreboard lights up like a pinball machine.
5. This game was not one to generate new fans. There was a dad sitting directly in front of me who had brought his 12-13 y.o daughter to the game. With nothing to cheer about mid 3rd quarter, she was practically begging dad to leave as she was bored to tears. It didn't take much whining to convince him.
6. Packing the house on the UConn side at Yankee Stadium will be problematic. Seeing the ads in the papers. Polling some people, excuses are already being made. Very Sad.
