Sbout nerves in preseason game.

It was my first game in a year and half. I"ve been waiting every single game. Waiting for the moment. It was overwhelming. The crowd, the fans I was speechless. Incredible feeling being out there. A little nervous.

End of first quarter - picked up full court. As a unit/steals pressure able to apply. Talk about defense.

I'm not worried about scoring points. Being out there (Defense), getting rebounds. Being aggressive. That I can control - shots will go in or out.

What like to play with Sara? She can pass

She can do everything on court. Energy, Aggressiveness. Going to be exciting!

Strengths of your game?

Def. being in lane for sure. Use the height and strongness. I'm coming back from injury. Still getting used to all the possession on the court. Got the ball where I wanted it. (praising feeds from teammates)

It's just amazing. UConn is the basketball capital of the world.

That first half - impressive

Great start. Everybody played really well defensively. Offensive game well run.


Praising Sarah's defense/the press

Sara's got good feet and hands. Footwork's good and has quick hands. Haven't worked on pressure - just one day. Something we're experimenting with... something that will get better. Effective today.

Longer than people think?

( Laughing)Don't know how someone is "sneaky long" Similar to Paige, she has a knack, away to get the ball up on the rim. Spin and ball control.

Got everyone in game... guards clicked.

The minutes were pretty even and a good way to start. Haven't had 10 players in practice that could go. Just adding in KK & Morgan today. Nice to have that option. Lack of continuity showed up in second half. Could have won by a 100 - but that's useless. Needed to work on half-court. Went 5 minutes scoreless. Something to work on.

El -Alfy Run over three people and she doesn't think it's a foul. When she fouls says to me, "But it was good hustle."
(Laughs) She's gotten a little too American for me. Always has a comment. Getting better - it's been a year and 1/2

It's a luxury. If someone's not playing way supposed to play, you can take 'em out. All positive now, but give me a few days (to look at the tape)

USF next

Not the scout for USF - for NC. Tonya has the scout.

They run a lot of offense. New players, missing last year - struggled. Tonight, one of their players went 7-7 from 3. It'll be a challenge. We can guard the line, not necessarily the people BEHIND the line. Good test. Fun to be back at Gampel.

"She's gotten a little too American for me". I thought that was a funny comment. That stinking FM station breaks up once you get 15 miles outside of Hartford, so I wasn't getting 100% of the interview. Maybe Jana has a little bit of Nika in her. When she bowled a defender over like a 5-pin in bowling, I yelled out: "Jana, you can't do that". Maybe it's OK in Egypt. We know it's OK in Croatia.
