He was the answer to the trivia question: who was the lead singer for The Crickets after Buddy Holly was killed in a 1959 plane crash?

Buddy was a fan of Trini's. Trini was singing in clubs around Texas and Buddy saw him, liked him and introduced him to some of his music industry connections.

Trini also was a movie actor - The Dirty Dozen, for one.

FanHam, that is a great piece of information. I was a huge fan of Buddy Holly and the Crickets. When the group broke up I never followed the Crickets afterwards. I know that Waylon Jennings was one of the subs in the group but he went on his own after Buddy died. I had never associated Trini with the Crickets. Thank you.
