We have to get over the superiority attitude BE vs MAC vs Mountain West. The truth of the matter is, the BE, especially UConn has struggled against Temple for five years, lost to Western Michigan twice (who's coach was fired for a mediocre season), and barely beat Buffalo. You think there was a reason UConn never played the top teams in the MAC?
Also the MAC had a good year against the current BE> The MAC is in a fertile recruiting ground.......picking up the left overs from the BIG and Big 12 gives them plenty of talented athletes.
If BYU and Boise end up going to the Mountain West, as some speculative commentary has postulated, I don't see any of the left over NBE (assuming Louisville to ACC/Big 12) teams being ranked higher in "BCS" standings.
We've got to take off our blinders.
