Question on 'spring recruiting'

We know that Geno is poking around internationally for a player or two....plus keeping an eye on 5th year tranfers.

In the fall we know he can't talk about possible recruits till they actually sign..other than acknowledging we are interested in those players.

I assume that is the same for spring [or later] players? No comment till they actually sign?
When does that period start....sometime in May?

You are correct. Recruits cannot be discussed publicly at any time until binding Letter of Intent is received. Not sure of dates for active recruiting.

First it is important to distinguish which class of recruits you are talking about .
For the class of 2019-those that will enroll this fall- the next calendar event and opportunity to sign a NLI is April 17, 2019. That window for signing the NLI extends to May 15, 2019, but is very much artificial. For UCONN fall classes start on Mon., Aug. 26, 2019, to be eligible to play for the 2019-20 season a student must be enrolled by this date.

For the class of 2020 the recruiting calendar has already started.
March 1, 2019 In home visits are allowed. Geno has already made at least two in home visits to Gusters and Nika Muhl.
Official visits-UCONN pays- can start as early as April 9th.
