Great point. I remember last year, coming out the gate after Christmas Break against Marquette. Marquette was ranked in the Top 20. We started slow and as the game progressed, we rounded into shape. UConn Basketball.Remember, traditionally after the Xmas break the next game starts rather sloppy then turns much better later on as they get used to each other again in game conditions!
Who is Silk?Nice to see Aubrey!
Where's Silk?
Sorry Joe...Another of those practice videos that features 100% shooting efficiency by UConn. Perhaps @msf22b can advise us what classical music was playing in the background? (Sounded like a string quartet to me ...)
SARAH " SILK " STRONGGGG!Who is Silk?
It sounded VIVALDI-like to me... but I could not recognize it.. VERY NICE!Sorry Joe...
I don't recognize it
Concerto-like but...as you say, 1 on a part...

Why on earth would the school close the player’s dorms? I mean, if they’re going to schedule games during the break, they need to accommodate the players. I get that there’s not much going on there over the break. But what do they expect the kids not from Connecticut to do? Jana and Ice for example? Inês? Aaliyah, Nika and Dorka? In the past, Geno has said that this time of year between semesters is rough, as there's no traditional routine, and the players were living in a hotel as dorms/apts were closed during break. No idea if the latter is still true, but none of the typical rhythm of going to class and practices was a bit crazy.
Obviously if the school has been "closed" in previous school years, every player and student associated with the team has survived. I am sure that they weren't left on their own to figure it out.Why on earth would the school close the player’s dorms? When our daughter was in college at Haverford College, they kept the dorms open over the fall break but not the spring break. And they closed all food outlets on campus. What on earth did they expect out of state kids like her to do? And the kids from Africa India and Asia? They recruit these kids and then leave them high and dry several times a year.

No problem...you've posted plenty of things tht I didn't agree with but I didn't feel the need to answer, that's wht makes America such a great country, everyone's free to express their opinions.Hmm. I'll go with Sarah.
I originally posted in this thread because I had no idea whose nickname was "Silk" and I wanted to know who you were referring to. I didn't remember seeing that nickname before. It wasn't that I didn't agree with it. Heck, many BYers tend to create new names for many players and some stick, some don't.No problem...you've posted plenty of things tht I didn't agree with but I didn't feel the need to answer, that's wht makes America such a great country, everyone's free to express their opinions.
what is that on her ear? seriously, i'm not knowledgeable on this.Great to see Caroline suited up. Even though she’s not playing in games, at least she can do some of what she loves.

And my statement was about how I try to refer to every player by their first name. Except I did sometimes refer to Katie Lou as just Lou...until Lou Lopez-Senechal arrived in Storrs.
A lot of players have those in practice. I assume it's covering a cuff that's hard to take off, so they only take them off for games.what is that on her ear? seriously, i'm not knowledgeable on this.
it is nice to see her participating. we wish her well, and the best in 2025.

The dorms are open for teams/band/etc., that are still on campus during the break. I've been and am still involved various teams and groups of students still on campus during break. Football, band, basketball, and a few more are all in their dorms/apartments. Times have changed in student housing at UConn. They are not in hotels. That did once happen, but not anymore. Why on earth would the school close the player’s dorms? I mean, if they’re going to schedule games during the break, they need to accommodate the players.
