We've had a few threads in the not-too-distant past about coaches criticizing their players or teams publicly. Corinne Diacre, who's been the coach of the French women's national soccer team for all of six months, says all the coaches we've discussed are amateurs as far as public criticism is concerned. Regarding their performance against England in the She Believes Cup, she had this to say:

"We are very far from the requirements of the international level. I am very angry at my players, I feel ashamed, I think it is unacceptable. We can fight, it can happen, but what we have demonstrated is unthinkable."

Looks like it may have worked, though, as they came back to draw the US and beat Germany 3-0. OTOH, I'm not sure she has the relationship capital with the players since she's only been in the job for six months.

Genos been known to throw players out of practice and the locker room.
