Gibbs, Miller, Nolan, and Calhoun played how seniors should play. They came out to play, stepped up their play, and most importantly closed out like seniors.
- Nolan: came up big with 8 rebounds (his season and career high), got another charge, and dished 3 dimes.
- Calhoun: didn't stuff the stats, but its clear that Calhoun is a player that Ollie trusts. Calhoun plays smart and has improved his defensive play. He also came up with a big 3 and solid rebound numbers as a guard with limited minutes.
- Miller: As always he was super efficient going 7 for 9 from the field. Provided the one - two close out punch. He still needs to cut down on the silly fouls because we need him on the court as long as possible.
- Gibbs: He was the "one" in the one - two senior knock out with Miller. Continues to get his 3 point % higher and higher (shooting at 40+% now). He is taking smarter shots were he sets his feet and the occasional shot that makes you go "wtf is Gibbs think... I knew he would make that big 3!!" He is getting more aggressive in attacking the hoop where he was perfect from the line and has been shooting really well from the line all season long, as a senior guard should be.
The Plus 1 being Adams:
Yes he committed the typical high amount of turnovers that freshman guard's typically commit, but today he provided a big offensive spark. Most importantly today was a big time game in his development in gaining experience and confidence. He played really well and he will be relied on more as the season progresses; too much talent not to contribute at a high level.
