For those that are new to the game and others that have forgotten it is requested that discussions other than prognostications of the game should be posted on other threads that your discussion pertains to. If you wish to prognosticate your prediction that is okay if you post your score. The winner/s will be posted soon after the game’s completion.
UConn’s first round game is against the Jackson State Lady Tigers of Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), who won both the SWAC Regular Season 18-0 and the Conference Tournament. They were 26-6 for the season, with their best win being in San Juan, PR against St. John’s, Massey rated #86 60-56. Their worst loss was against Massey #99 rated UCF, also in San Juan, PR 54-63. They are rated by Massey #103rd, with an SOS of 247th, an offense rated 126th and defense rated 109th. They average 70.6 points, 43 rebounds, 12.2 assists, 8 steals, 5.2 blocks and 15 turnovers a game. Shooting 40.1%, 70.8% in free throw shooting and only 28.7% in 3pt shooting accuracy. During their Conference Tournament they Averaged 68.3 points, 50.3 Rbds, 10 Asts, 8 Stls, 8.6 Blks, 13.3 T/O’s and 18 PF over three games. They were against the following teams rated by Massey, #324th Prairie View 67-58, #228th Arkansas-Pine Bluff 70-48 and #304 Alcorn ST 68-44. The SWAC non-conference record is 41-97, with the Lady Tigers record being 5-6 in their non-conference games.
Their starters for the SWAC Tournament were Angel Jackson G, 6’6” SR, 30.3 mins, 7.6 pts, 9 rbds, 5.3 blks, 2.3 stls and 2 PF’s. Miya Crump G, 6’1” SR, 29.3 min, 11.6 pts, 7.6 rbds, 1.6 asts and stls, 2.6 t/o’s and PF’s. Zakiya Mahoney G, 5’10” SR, 16 min, 0.6 pts, 5.6 rbds and 1.3 T/O’s. Ti’lan Boler G, 6’ SR, 30 min, 13.3 pts, 6.6 rbds, 1 asts, 0.6 stls, 1.3 t/o’s and 1.6 PF’s. Keshuna Jackson G, 5’8” SR, 24 min, 9 pts, 2.3 rbds, 2.6 asts, 0.6 stls, 2 T/O’s and 3 PF’s. They have no notable bad losses considering that all of them were to Massey rated Top 100 teams and 5 of their 6 losses were to teams rated in the Top 50. Those losses were #4 Texas, #14 Oregon State, #18 Kansas State, #46 Mississippi State, #47 Miami and UCF noted above. I believe that UConn will be able to win this game very easily if they play like they did in the Big East Tournament, especially the last two games.

If the request for change is submitted prior to the closing of accepted predictions, you will receive a "like" letting you know that it was accepted and changed.
- If someone believes that they have been missed, or someone notices that another fellow Prognosticator has been by the gamekeeper, then it must be brought to the gamekeeper's attention within 24 hours of the posting of the winner(s) game thread.
- Massey is giving Jackson State a 1% chance of winning, so I don’t see UConn having any problems with the Lady Tigers, they will wear them down NLT the middle of the 3rd qtr and get win #30 for the season. UConn 90 – Jackson State 44.
