St. John’s has the return game at Gampel and should be another loud crowd hopefully a sellout. St. John’s is 8-3 in Big East play 2.5 games behind the Huskies. Their BE wins were against Villanova 51-46, Marquette 57-56, Butler 60-42, Georgetown 57-56 and Xavier 67-55 at home. While their road wins were at Providence 55-48, Xavier 60-42 and DePaul 83-77. Their losses were at home against UConn 49-92 and on the road against Creighton 56-67 and Seton Hall 66-74. The Red Storm both the SoS and rating by Massey is 87th. In Conference play they average 60.1 points a game while allowing 59.5. They average 31.2 rebounds, 12.2 assists, 6.1 steals, 3.6 blocks, 13.8 turnovers while forcing 14.1, shooting 43.2 FG%, 66.7 FT%, and have a 28.5 3pt%. UConn is averaging 87.4 points a game while allowing 55. UConn averages 37.8 rebounds, 22.9 assists, 9.9 steals, 2.8 blocks, 11.4 turnovers while forcing 17.5, shooting 54.2%, 78.8 FT% and have a 39.5 3pt%. Their best win was against Marquette, Massey rated #35 and worst loss was against Monmouth NJ, Massey rated #191. Offensively they are ranked 140th while defensively they are ranked 49th vs UConn being ranked 3rd in offense and 5th in defense.

St. John’s has 5 upperclassman, 4 SR's and 1 JR, with 3 SO’s and 4 FR’s, so they do have somewhat of an experienced team. The starters in most of their Conference games were Unique Drake G 5’7” SR who averages 37.5 min, 17 pts, 2 rbds and 2.4 ast. Jillian Archer F 6’2” SR averages 32.1 mins, 11.7 pts, 7.4 rbds and 2.3 blks, Ber’Nyah Mayo G 5’6” SR averages 32.1 min, 10.4 pts, 3.6 ast and 3.6 rbds. Phownix Gedeon F 6’ JR averages 19.8 min, 2.5 pts, 4 rbds and 0.9 ast. Tara Daye G 5’10” SO averages 29.4 min, 6.4 pts, 5.3 rbds and 1.9 ast. They play between 7 to 9 players a game in Conference play. In the first match up UConn held the Red Storm to 42% shooting, 23.5% in 3 pt shooting and shot only 60% from the line. While the Husky’s had 64.4% shooting, 60% in 3 pt shooting and shot 87.5% from the line.

They should have shaken off the ND funk after waking up in the second half against Villanova.

UConn 83, St. Johns 58. 25 point MOV.
