For those that are new to the game and others that have forgotten it is requested that discussions other than prognostications of the game should be posted on other threads that your discussion pertains to. If you wish to prognosticate your prediction that is okay if you post your score. The winner/s will be posted soon after the game’s completion.

UConn plays their only exhibition game against Fort Hays State University, the DIV II team is coached by Talia Kahrs who enters her second season as Head Women's Basketball Coach at Fort Hays State University in 2024-25. Kahrs led the Tigers to the NCAA Division II Central Region semifinals in her first season as head coach in 2023-24, turning in a record of 25-8. Fort Hays State reached the MIAA Championship Tournament title game after finishing in a tie for second in the league standings.

She was named the seventh head coach in program history in the spring of 2023 after serving as the primary assistant coach for 11 years. Kahrs has been associated with the women's basketball program for each of the last 16 seasons, including playing for the Tigers for three seasons (2008-11), serving as a student assistant coach for one year (2011-12), working as the assistant coach for Tony Hobson for 11 seasons (2012-23) and working as the head coach for one year (2023-present). Kahrs led the Tigers to the NCAA Division II Central Region semifinals in her first season as head coach in 2023-24. She helped the Tigers extend the longest active streak of 20-win seasons in NCAA Division II, doing so for the 13th-consecutive campaign. Something that Geno and CD have done over the last 31 years.

This game will be the third time that UConn has played Fort Hays State, winning the first two times 82-37 in 2017-18 season and 111-47 in the 2021-22 season. They have only 4 players 6 feet or taller with the tallest being 6’3”. They have an experienced team returning with 5 Senior/Grad Students, 4 Juniors, a Sophomore and 3 Freshman, but the game will not be close or pretty for the Tigers considering UConn has had only two Div II exhibition games that were within 45 points, one of them was against FHS. At least they will most likely have a good time seeing Gampel Pavilion, the UConn Hall of Honor, the Dairy Bar, as well as Storrs.

All predictions and any changes must be submitted by 11:45 AM Eastern. Any submitted after the cut-off will not be accepted. Don't forget to turn back you clocks one hour on Sunday.

  • This game won’t be close, I believe that UConn will play all available players, and everyone will score. UConn 105Ft Hays St 40.
Attached is a copy of the Prognosticator's Predictions Rules and Scoring System – Tournament criteria, please read it so that you are familiar with the game rules. Good Luck to all you Prognosticator's out there and have some fun. This game is on UConn+.

Prognosticators Predictions Rules and Scoring System

1. When making a prediction only one score can be submitted by stating the score, i.e., UConn 83 – DePaul 52, or at least the winner, UConn 83 - 52. NO posts like, one for if so and so is playing and another if they are not playing or agreeing with someone else’s prediction without posting a stated winner and a score. If two predictions are submitted in the same post, the first score is the one that will be used. If prior to the closing of the predictions for that game, you decided that you wish to change your score you must submit a new prediction by stating you wish to change your previous prediction.

2. To earn points for a game you first must pick the winning team before the awarding of points in accordance with the scoring criteria is applied. If you had the exact score, but the wrong team wins no points will be awarded.

3. Scoring system for ALL games, both the Regular Season and Tournament Championships are with the value given for being closest to the exact score and less emphasis on Margin of Victory (MOV).

Exact score = 15 points

1 off exact score = 12 points

2 off exact score = 9 points

MOV. = 6 points

3 off exact score = 4 points

4 off exact score = 3 points

1 off MOV. = 2 points

4. If your score covers more than one of the above, only the higher value will be applied. In the event that no predictions are within the above stated parameters, then the closest to the exact score and all ties will receive 3 points, i.e., one player is within 6 points while another is within 7 points of the exact score, the one within 6 points wins.

5. If someone believes that they have been missed by the gamekeeper, then it is up to that person to bring it to their attention within 24 hours of the posting of the winner(s) game thread. If there is need for a change in scoring a correction will be posted in a new thread stating the correction and an amended Current Standings will be attached to the posting.
Good Luck to all you Prognosticator’s out there.
