Because the Michigan media is coming to town. Figure they will be very eager to speak to him, and suspect he will be eager to talk to them to keep his name "out there" in Big 10 land. Also figure that big-time media won't be shy about peppering him with questions about the crapshow he's overseeing. Eager to see how The Big Guy uses this "back channel" to communicate to the great lowly unwashed here in CT

Oh, and here's the Warde silence clock. Still going strong
 
When he talks this week, he better be very careful and measured in his words. He will have media outside of the Connecticut lapdogs and they might actually have questions that require some thought and depth.

What he doesn't say will be as telling as what he does say.
 
The longer he waits to make a move, any move (I'd accept simply firing DeLeone at this point), the more this mess reflects on his resume. If he wants a B1G job, he needs to act to fix our mess first.
