[QUOTE="CocoHusky, post: 2864906, member: 5823"] The change a few years ago 2011? was not just a change to the "start of official practices" it was much more comprehensive to include summer sessions. Prior to this change, off season practices were student led (open gyms) with coaches not allowed in the gym. Under the new rule as long as S/A are taking classes they are allowed to have workouts supervised by coaches limited to ???: 20 hours per week, number of players at a time , and 6 days a week. There has always been the provision to start practices before everyone else if your team is involved in an early season tournament like the Preseason NIT or the hall of fame tip off. More and more of these tournaments are popping up and more coaches are deciding to participate in these tournaments just to get the early start.
