To quote the great A.I., "We talking 'bout practice?"Can someone shed some light on some programs starting practice so early? It used to be a mid October thing I thought. Did the NCAA change the rule? Did UCONN start practicing yet? I haven't seen anything on twitter or instagram.
The change a few years ago 2011? was not just a change to the "start of official practices" it was much more comprehensive to include summer sessions. Prior to this change, off season practices were student led (open gyms) with coaches not allowed in the gym. Under the new rule as long as S/A are taking classes they are allowed to have workouts supervised by coaches limited to ???: 20 hours per week, number of players at a time , and 6 days a week.NCAA changed it a couple years back. I know the men’s team started practicing, but not for sure about women’s especially since it seems players went home for the weekend. I remember reading an article a while back Geno saying he’s going to keep starting practice the original mid October date.
