Stream Of Consciousness Rnakings - in Alpha Order - based on how much I enjoyed watching them from when my interest in UCONN basketball really began - mid/late 1980's. Note that unlike the Men, on the Women's List I think there is clear day daylight between the top 3 (perhaps with Samuelson joining that group later) and the rest.

Pretty good list. I'd add Kevin Freeman and remove Hasheem Thabeet from list 2. And it's appropriate I think that alphabetical order lists Ray Allen first. I'm too tired to go much deeper than that.

If I could build an allstar team of Uconn bball players, my starting 5 would be emeka (center), Ray allen (sg), Kemba walker (pg), kevin freeman (pf) and RIP at the small forward. B. Gordon would be my 6th man and I would also have Napier, Butler, Gay and Smith coming off the bench. For extra depth in my last few slots I would have Donyell Marshall, Sheffer and Rashad as my secret assassin off the bench.

God, it is hard to pick just one team of 12 or 13 players, even when just considering Uconn players. But that would be a killer team.

Williams saved Uconn from a potential disaster against Albany in 2006 too. For that, I would almost include him in my top 12 but that 2006 team left a sour taste in my mouth. They were possibly one of the most talented Uconn teams in the history of the program, if not the most talented, but there are 5 teams that went further. Just the same, he hit so many big shots against Albany and had some beautiful assists, didn't he average like 9 or 10 a game? But ya...2006, ugh.

My most enjoyable - Ray Allen, Kemba Walker, Shabazz Napier. Ray was silky smooth and Kemba and Shabazz had so many heroic plays. Rip, Ben Gordon, Donyell, Khalid, Emeka, Ricky Moore get honorable mention.

Emeka has a special place in my heart. He saved Uconn vs Duke in 2004. Without him, duke runs away with that by 15 to 20+.

One guy not on your list - I used to eagerly anticipate Rash coming off the bench. Can't count how often he was instant offense. But I don't think anyone will be as enjoyable to watch for me as KEA. That smile. That handle. The fearlessness.

This same statement came up in the "Best 6th Man" thread. First, I loved Rash. He was a totally selfless player who was tough and loved being here. The image of him clutching the ball saying "Oh my God" as the buzzer sounded in 99 is a forever memory. But.... Rash was a not a great offensive player, especially as a bench guy. He was great the beginning of his Soph year and then went into a shooting slump that basically lasted two years. My memory of him has nothing to do with "instant offense," but everything to do with defense.
