And the team truly is deserving of that compliment.

Best quip from John A.:

"If Kansas State goes on a 40-0 run in the final 9:07 it will still lose."

Tonight, they had 10 players committed to being awesome. That was a championship-caliber performance. Not saying they're going to win it all, but saying UConn is putting itself in position to have the opportunity if they keep playing like that.

Only gets harder from here, but mission accomplished in Bridgeport.

Kiah with 13, 9 & 3 blocks. Out of the dog house?

Talk about superlative--and clean--defense. No one had more than 2 fouls. What a heady group!

Except for Stef, who really had 5 fouls in one possession (per Rebecca) ...! :D

+1 steal and 0 fouls in 18 minutes...phenomenal! :) Those stats are the NFL's equivalent perfect QB game rating of 158.3%!!!

KML gave Kiah a big pat at the end of the game. I think CD did too.

Geno gave Kiah either applause or a pat in the first half.

And, as usual, she played with remarkable, rhythm, grace and poise.

She is an extraordinary athlete.

(Kiah's best stat was 9 rebounds while Stef had only four. And Stef played ten more minutes.)

What I like best about this line is the times she was hit going up and still continued to to put the ball in the basket for a +1 (I remember at least twice). She might even have some Kansas sweat on her jersey. Nice game.

Uh Oh ... when he is really, really happy he ignores you when you come out of a game. Remeber when Tina got no love at the end of an NCAA championship/ or semi Game and Maya was mugging "what's up with that!":)

Tiffany logged more mileage than anyone. She seemed to be everywhere, swooping in to snare rebounds, dashing down court on fast breaks, defending, cutting, driving. "Miss Everywhere" or Perpetual Motion tonight.

Kiah got into the game fast. Seemed like she had a bucket, a block, a rebound and a couple freethrows before Dolson (who she replaced) even sat down.

Bria and Kaleena brought lots of firepower.

The way UConn played first half, they will beat anyone.

Anyone!

He clapped for Stef when she came out, too, even tho her line wasn't all that impressive. She still played a very solid game tho!

She also does something Stef could learn from, Kiah opens herself up nicely as a big target for entry passes. Stef has a tendency to crouch in the post which reduces the target area for entry passes. Kiah opens up nicely, both shoulders out and back. There was one rather dying duck of an entry pass she was able to rope in and turn into a quick bucket because of it.

Kiah is the poster child for winning the genetic lottery! She's also like an octopus on the boards - if she gets her long tentacles on a rebound or lose ball it's case closed! Rarely does another team's player/s linger around after she's hauled in a board and attempt to poke or steal the ball away from her because they get that it ain't gonna happen...LOL.

As part of the same stance, Stef sometimes (not always) gets her weight back on her heels while leaning back on the defender---besides making her a smaller target in the "crouch" as you correctly point out, this position makes it harder for her to jump or move to snare a ball that's in her area but not fired right to her. Again, this isn't something she does *all* the time, just sometimes.

Geno has maintained that the hardest game in the NCAAs is your regional final. 'Course, his opinion may be colored by history. :)

Geno also slapped Bria's hand after a nice steal. He seemed happy tonight, though he did take his jacket off--when we were up by 25 early.
