I’m not counting on a huge leap from ONO——she needs to gain weight, and then get used to the body before the real development work shows up on the court. 2nd to 3rd years I would expect it, with the “blossoming” starting later yr 3. I expect significant jumps from Walker and Williams. Respectively, I would suggest the transfers at best are of very limited value. The players get what ?....move up in the draft ? What’s the team get....not an NC. I’d be somewhat more amenable to the idea if you could make the case that a transfer can deliver a NC, but I still wouldn’t like it. They can’t. The best they can deliver is a better tournament seeding. Be real - That’s what you guys are talking about. You want to sell out your program, customize your offense for one season to accommodate your transfers in order to get full value because otherwise, again, it’s not worth it. And what happens to the rest of the team, you put them behind where they oughta be. AZ was a bolt on, bolt ons gotta fit. A non starter, limited minutes —-that’s what you get. And no guarantee they will will deliver. They’re free agents, suitable for the pro game, not college. It’s just absolutely ridiculous for a program like UConn. Die hards love it cuz they wanna nitpick the coach and they can’t handle a single loss. But your also going to turn off the general fan base eventually since they have absolutely no investment into those transfers. You’re constantly working against yourself playing the transfer game. It’s just utter nonsense and does not help the long term development of the game.
