Hey!
Im a new member and thought this would be a good time for my first post, Id like to speak on something here. I think the extreme negativity is a little premature. I remember when we blew out umass last year and so many people left the game early because we were up by so much. The outlook was so positive and then we ended up with a pretty disappointing season. I think playing against one of the best fcs schools was a good thing even though we got beat, because if we just played some garbage no talent team and destroyed them (like umass) how would that help us get ready for Maryland and Michigan. I doubt any team on our schedule aside from Louisville is gonna play as good of a game as Towson did. Im pretty sure we'll get a stronger showing from our guys in the upcoming games. I wish we had played a team that was this good to start off last season, might have turned out differently. Honestly though I care most about beating Edsall next game, I hold grudges and wish nothing but failure for that guy. ;) Go huskies

I hope you're right but I'm a pretty optimistic guy when it comes to this team and right now my spirit's broken. I see no hope.

This was an FCS team, granted a very good FCS team, but an FCS team none the less. If this team plays even slightly better the rest of the way out, we lose almost every game. The only way, and I laugh as I say it, the only way this turns positive is making a 180 as a team from what was displayed yesterday. I mean a huge jump up in every facet. I want to believe it is possible, but not going to happen.

WT F? Michigan won't play as well as Towson? UM Terds? Rutgirls? UCF? Heck, even USF?

You do realize Towson is a Division 2, or whatever, program, right?

you don't think the way towson played last night they couldn't beat most fbs teams? I mean who knew they had the ability to drive down field they way they did. They were jacked up for that game. Yeah the huskies looked bad with the penalty at the goal line and fumbled snap on 3rd and short, but whitmer was throwing the ball downfield better than he did last year, and mccombs actually got some good gains, its not all bad.

Towson played over their heads.... UConn played well below their potential. Not sure what is going on with that offensive line and everyone can justifiably point the finger at the O-line coach but there must be more to it than just that. I have a hard time believing after all this time in college and pro football that Deleone can't coach up a better line than that. Defensive line too...what was up with those guys letting Towson push them around? Too many missed tackles on the D. the game is won on the line of scrimmage so if UConn plans on winning at all this season it has to start there. I did see some positive though.... Obi Melifonwu looked like he's ready to play some ball as did Geremy Davis. It looks like UConn has some weapons on offense, they just need to win the line of scrimmage battle and they'll be ok.

davis was a beast, him and Phillips got good separation last night. if whitmer can cut down on the occasional bad decision the passing game could be pretty explosive.

Dude, many here a very long time season ticket holders with a over decade or more under our belt. We've seen this program rise and achieve frankly amazing results and become a solid, credible BCS program. In less than three years we've see it completely dismantled and reduced to rubble in every way possible through sheer incompetence at every level.

We don't hate the program. We love the program and that's why the anger is so real. Say what you will, there are many arguments on this board and plenty of bile and passion, but on either side you have some pretty knowledgeable folks who care.

Oh shut up.
Take a chill pill. I agree, early when he actually had time to throw we had some big plays. They never really stopped our down the field pass, only a couple of pass interferences stopped it. As the game went along the pass protection vanished and so did those plays. It's not like they were stopping it with pass defense. The rush stopped it.

We just lost to Towson. At home. And it wasn't close.

We have a coach who has single handidly flushed the first decade's worth of momentum of our football program down the drain,

I dont care about the things would be better only if this happened....from the posters whose head in the ground routine are the reason we are stuck with Pasqualoni in the first place.

So I don't give a damn if Whitmer would have done this only if he had more time to throw. Because it didn't happen.

I'm not arguing your points here, we were awful. You told a new poster to shut up on a point that was valid and a positive.

I understand. Ive followed the team for a while but only started going to games last year cause I was living out of state for a while. Its good to see so many people who support this team. Im not trying to piss anybody off, Im trying to get some good vibes about the team. I found the forum recently and saw a lot of positivity before that first game, and now not really any at all. im sure you all know each other and have been on this site for a while and its not easy hearing an unpopular perspective from a new guy, I got it.

Hey!
Im a new member and thought this would be a good time for my first post, Id like to speak on something here. I think the extreme negativity is a little premature.

This was game number 25, the current regime has a 10-15 record, and they just got outclassed by a FCS program. There is nothing premature about any negativity.

I remember when we blew out umass last year and so many people left the game early because we were up by so much. The outlook was so positive and then we ended up with a pretty disappointing season.

I was only a lurker at that point, but again you are absolutely off base. Fans here and in my tailgate group were absolutely worried. McCombs averaged under 4 yard/carry vs. UMass. The score was 37-0 but only because of defense (TAINT) and special teams (Blocked kick return). There is no way a team supposedly as talented as last year's team should score only two offensive TDs vs. UMass.

I think playing against one of the best FCS schools was a good thing even though we got beat, because if we just played some garbage no talent team and destroyed them (like umass) how would that help us get ready for Maryland and Michigan...Im pretty sure we'll get a stronger showing from our guys in the upcoming games. 1. You're the only one then.
2. At least UMass is a FBS school.
3. See above...

I doubt any team on our schedule aside from Louisville is gonna play as good of a game as Towson did.

You left out Cinci, Rutgers, UCF, USF, and Temple.

With all due respect I don't give a damn about your fandom history

After being spanked at home against a 1-AA team.- "Oh let's send positive vibes! Let's all be positive!"

You sound like a troll. Or you smoked a bong all morning.

Maybe you guys should have stuck around last night and got a chant going with the few hundred people or so that were left "Coach must go" "Coach must go". Instead it was pretty quiet.
