1) Amida
2)Brimah
3)Amida Brimah
4)leadership from seniors
5)We looked like an absolute powerhouse prior to an impressive Maryland comeback. I chalk a bit of the collapse up to our guys losing their composure but I think most of it was due to playing a tough, well coached team that made great adjustments.
6)Pace-For most of the game we were on pace to score well over 80 pts. High scoring, fast paced games will suit this team well. I think when Maryland adjusted well by turning into a physical half court game, they held a big advantage.
7) Depth-Key contributions from 9 guys. Every player had positive contributions in this game.
8) holding on for a W with Bazz on the bench. He needs to learn from this how much the team needs him but good grit shown down the stretch to gut out a really tough win in what was essentially a road game.

Overall I think we should be very proud of these guys tonight. KO has many things to build on and get them to improve on. Nice to start off with a W while seeing what a game changer Amida can be immediately.

Because of fouls, not bad play. The officials did a nice job helping Maryland on top of our sloppiness. They were in the bonus with 8 minutes left in the 2nd half and then had to commit multiple fouls in the last 30 seconds just to get us into the bonus.

TS was also very good with his time on the court. Loved the lefty lay-up with the momentum going away from us.

Refs were out of control. Maryland shot 28 FTs, and until the last minute when they started fouling on purpose, we had shot 10.

UConn wasn't driving though. Seemed Maryland was taking it to the hoop a lot.

Napier was amazing the first half but ball slipped out his hands twice in the second. That and the technical? What was the explanation for that? Couldn't tell in stadium.

Giffey can shoot.

Kromah is better than Evans.

Samuel is decent but an obvious downgrade from Napier.

Daniels was off.

Boat was up and down. Not a good shooting g night for him.

Nolan was subpar.

Brimah was fantastic at times but obviously still learning the game.

Are you kidding me? If you're not excited by the way Brimah was able to change the game at times and how far ahead of what most of thought he'd be at this point then you must be pretty hard to please. He showed clearly that when he learns how to stay out of trouble he's going to be a force, quite possibly this year. This is the first freshmen center since Emeka to bring this kind of a presence and excitement.

The thing is, I'd say a majority of our fouls were on the perimeter as a result of the new hand check rules. Although I agree I would've liked to have seen us be more aggressive with the ball.
