So it’s all about jealousy, then?

I guess. So all 72 people are jealous. And everyone who sits in the lower bowl thinks they’re super fans and stand all game.

As someone who sits in the section behind the UConn bench at both venues my opinion is the people are still the same as they have always been. And they are people who cheer and stand. The issue is everyone is now spread out and tons of empty rows/seats divide us. It's just not the same feeling anymore. Of course for big games like Zona and St Johns people are gonna be into it and there won't be that many empty seats.

But as for the empty seats, I don't think that many of them are owned by donors, companies, etc. Sure there are some people who buy and don't make the effort to make sure they get used. I just think a lot of them are seats that UConn held back for other obligations. I think they might of overestimated and it wouldn't shock me if you see more of them become available for next season for season tickets or single game tickets.

The seats behind the bench belong to the Athletic Dept. Hurley and his staff get more than 50 seats per game. That’s where recruits, former players, friends and family sit when they go. There are a couple of HUGE donors that sit near there but they are also at every game.
Key word is "when". The AD should make a better effort to get people in those seats for tv. Maybe move the celebs to the side opposite the team.

Strawman to the 10th degree

We were standing a lot more than the upper bowl chairbacks were Wednesday night.

Besides, it would be disrespectful to the University not to maximize tush time in those new wide, cushy seats they installed for us.

.-.
Anyone notice how quite Philly fans became? And they were sitting down too 😀

I heard the old guys making a lot of noise too. Great job boys, thank you. And have a safe trip home

My vote is for the 1st 3 rows all around the Gampel be reserved for students. The high rollers cn sit behind them.

I think Alabama Football requires every season ticket holder to use every seat for every game or risk losing their season tickets.
That would be great in theory, but UConn doesn't have the luxury turning down a sizeable donation because of some use of ticket rules. With our conference situation, we have to live off donated funds.
