I went with Hurley. O Danny Boy Saturday. Hoping for the best. We better be planning for the worst.

Why would Martin leave SC, after just going to a Final Four, to come to UConn ?

None of the above. Nate Oats!
I’d take him in heartbeat. I haven’t watched a non-UConn game this year (or last), but I watched all of UB-UA tonight. And I loved the tenacity of those Bulls.

I like the young man in RI who has basketball in his DNA.

But, I like the young man in Hamden who has basketball in his DNA too.

We're rolling the dice either way. If it were me, I'd save a few bucks right off the top and grab Baker now.

Martin has been vocal about how little support he has gotten despite the Final Four appearance. He probably wants to find out what it’s like to coach at a basketball school.

Ok, thanks. I actually wouldn't mind Martin.
A choice of Hurley , Martin or Oats is not bad at this point. I'm sure their might be another choice as the tournament continues.
Lol. Martin would be reunited with Cobb.

Cobb is the hidden mojo for a Martin hiring.

Calhoun is our Wooden, our Dean Smith, our Krzyzewski. No other names that I can think of are his equal so I stop there. He is always option one in my opinion. Without him in the mix. I like final four coaches... Matta and Martin. I think Danny (can't call him Hurley cause I still hate the name even though it was his brother) as a younger unproven up and coming coach is as good as an option out there so I get the attraction but he is fourth on my list. But I like this list if it is real. (and I am a labeled Ollie apologist) Glad Crean is not on it anymore. He didn't make any list of mine.

What do you mean, if it were you?
You're The Leader. Whatever you say goes and if anyone doesn't like it they and their families are history............

I thought Buffalo was more athletic and just as deep as Arizona. If you can recruit those guys to Buffalo we'll take you in Storrs. I'm fine with Hurley or Oats. I think Martin is a good coach but he just doesn't do it for me. I'm excited for the Buffalo/Kentucky game.

We also should be considering Earl Grant from College of Charleston. Has done great things with CofC in a short time.

If Buffalo plays vs the Squid as they did vs AU - Buffalo wins

I’m not for or against any particular guy, but do folks know Matta’s resume (admittedly I didn’t until I looked it up)? Goodness, the guy is more than just good. He had one season with under 20 wins and that was the last one at OSU.

I get there is a health issue and he’s older (upper 40’s/lower 50’s) than Hurley, but side by side comps it’s not even close.

Hurley has done a good job with much smaller sample size - christ a quick wiki search tell us Matta got a .750 winning percentage as a head guy from Butler, Xavier and OSU and won conference titles in 8 out of 17 years. Before that search I remember him being good, but looking at the resume it’s was eye opening. His last 4 years were his worst for sure - but he can recruit and coach.

Im not saying he’s the guy, but if he’s healthy he needs to be given a very very strong look. Now money, cultural fit, etc. might make it a no go, but to ignore what that guy has done in favor of Hurley’s success seems to be myopic.
