Nice interview again, Jared.

btw, is that hoodie you're wearing available online? It's nice.

Greenberg's been to a lot of practices and knows the team. I like his concept of starting Ahmad and Tarris--he's watched them develop.
It's also nice to hear his calm in the face of such apparent calamity; he seems to think Danny can figure this out, but we need patience.
Great interview.

No surprise that Seth believes in Ahmad Nowell. Sounds like all the freshman and sophomore’s have had up and down preseasons. Understandable considering the “pressure cooker” atmosphere the staff put them in. When it all clicks for this team, it’s going to be sweet.

I take some comfort in the fact that he is seeing what we are seeing because, if that's the case, the staff is seeing it as well and working on ways to fix it.

If we have to guess the staff is on this 1000%. That doesn’t guarantee outcomes of course.

What I meant by my post was that the problems are well defined if they're being identified by everyone consistently. I trust Hurley and staff to be able to fix them, as well as they can be fixed.

Nowell 20 / Diarra 20
Ball 25 / 15?
Liam 30 / Stew 10
Alex 30 / Stew 10
Reed 30 / Samson 10

Nowell starts at PG allowing Diarra to go back to 6th man even if he ends up averaging a bit more PT than Nowell, maybe even a 15/25 mpg split.

Mahaney and Ross fight for the ~15 mins at backup SG. Hopefully one earns the spot and the other drops out of the rotation.

Samson looks like he’s trying to juggle hot potatoes while ice skating. Reed needs to triple his PT.

Agree with most of this but I don’t see Mahaney or Ross dropping out of the rotation completely. Also, I think Samson should get more like 15 mins a game. Matchup dependent, he may be better suited at the 5 against certain teams.

It would also be nice if we could play Yousef Singare for 5 - 7 minutes a game to all for 3 centers (15 fouls) instead of 2 center (10 fouls). Essentially, Yousef would provide additional protection from Johnson and Reed gettinto into early fould trouble. I'd give the following minutes per game at center:
Tarris Reed Jr. = 18 - 20 minutes
Sampson Johnson = 13 - 15 minutes
Yousef Singare = 5 - 7 minutes

I think the last thing we need right now is a bigger rotation. I think the fact that he didn’t get many minutes even in the blowout buy games is telling

There can ( and should ) be a few minutes of overlap with Diarra and Nowell on floor at same time. Matchup dependent , but ball handlers who can dribble are never a bad thing.

I’m pretty sure the staff has at least as good an idea as all of us knuckleheads on the boneyard what the strengths and weaknesses of this team are.
