Early 70's. 72 or so. I read an autobiography by Walt Frazier. I believe it was called Clyde.

It would have to be early 70's for me, probably '71 or '72, when my dad took me to see the Harlem Globetrotters and I was awed by Curly Neal and Meadowlark Lemon. And around '73 my older brother attended a basketball camp where Pistol Pete Maravich made an appearance, so I became enthralled with him (had a basketball with his name on it) and he was probably the first NBA player for me.
