So now that UConn is raising money off every win, what is the incentive to play quality home/home out of conference games?
Follow the money trail and it will explain a lot. These sports marketing fund raiser folks try to be so clever, but at least to me, it sent the wrong message. I would rather watch quality opponents and take an occasional loss rather than go undefeated playing an entire home OOC schedule of cupcakes.
Using basketball lingo, Dave’s shooting touch seems to be off lately. No quality home OOC opponents, the First Night Fiasco of unforced errors and now this poorly conceived idea. Instead, I will donate additional money for every quality home OOC opponent win or lose. Chief is a loyal fan, not a bandwagon guy who only supports the team after cheap wins. There’s something really unseemly about this approach.
