Johnson couldn't touch the floor his freshman year. There's a pretty high likelihood he was poorly evaluated coming out of HS. I hope that's not true, but thinking otherwise seems like sticking your head in the sand.

I think I read that Hurley said that Johnson should have seen more time but the extra Covid year it was hard to play him over the grizzled old vets. He said he was good enough otherwise. How could you with Whaley, Akok and Martin there. I can see Hurley’s point there.

Karaban has much less experience (actually 0 college experience) and was rated around 100, for whatever the ranking is worth worth. Those just facts. Hell, I hope Karaban is the next coming of Jesus S. But I’m not willing to make myself look stupid and announce he’s starting over anyone.

Fyi he was ranked higher for 2022 before reclassifying, which is always happens when players reclass last minute. Don't know what his ranking peaked at but here is a snapshot from Apr 2021.
