That's kinda the defacto UConn bar where they hold all the alumni events. What part of the city are you looking to be in?

No I know it is, it just gets so crazy in there. I was hoping other bars would be playing it. Really any part of the city, we aren't picky.

I watched the 2011 championship game in Tavern in the Square in Cambridge in Central Square. You can get there easily at the Central Square stop on the Red Line (one stop before Harvard Square). For the 2014 championship game, I watched that in Tavern in the Square in Cambridge/Somerville in Porter Square. You can get there easily at the Porter Square stop on the Red Line (one stop after Harvard Square).

I know it's not Boston, but it's not far from Boston either.

I hate that bar. Also, being in the burbs, it's in just about the worst part of the city for access.

My current plan for day 1-2 of the NCAAs is to check out the Sportsbook in Plainville. But Big East tournament is a tough one because it will lose out to Bruins/Celtics and possibly ACC and other games.

Yeah you do have to be careful. UConn - Nova was on at the same time as both Bruins and Celtics and a bar I went to had 5 tvs behind the bar and wouldn't change a single one to UConn game.

Bruins will be on at same time as BET championship game, but Celtics are off that day at least.

If the Bruins and Celtics are playing, I don't go out to watch games at that time unless I know the bar will accommodate me. Even something like the Beanpot will get priority in the city.
  • BWW will have games on - but maybe not at a TV you have a good view of.
  • Local pub has been fantastic, they can separately control each of dozens of TVs so we sit at the bar, and they switch the one in front of us.
  • Many bars seem to only be able to play 2-4 things at a time.
I do expect Boston bars to prioritize games being played at Boston Garden if we get there.

Pretty sure the spots in Cambridge and Somerville are no more. You’re looking at the original in Allston or the new nice one at North station (maybe they still have that crummy stand in South Station lol) for locations within city limits

When I lived here 2012-15 I experienced the same problem, bars either not having the capability or the care to put on UConn games. Those were the AAC days where we were lucky to be on ESPNU (shudder). I found a bar in the financial district by Dooley’s that was always willing to put UConn on, but they’ve definitely become a new bar since and I haven’t been.

Edit ugh it’s an espresso bar now lol

Gotta find the more obscure bars that don’t have a big amount of their clientele showing up for sports demanding Celtics/Bruins/Pats be on
