Notice the wall that was put up around the presidents.....and the silent treatment Pitt got thereafter.

Lawsuit totally expected, by the chiefs, if you ask me.

I love watching what's going on right now. If I'm anywhere near what's actually happening with what I can gather, the college landscape that's been run by these BCS execs and the media for so long, is about to get run over in the next several months by the knowledge and experience that is the intelligence and information warfare business of the United States Naval Intelligence Service.

WTF is he talking about? The Naval Intelligence Service involves itself in college athletic contracts and conferences?
 
No. He just means that some Navy politicking and strategizing could be involved along with the conference hiring a commissioner that belongs in a poker game with the other big conference heads. He is off the wall sometimes but he may actually be right that the conference is enlisting the big guns for the homestretch leading up to signing a tv deal. There is no shortage of very smart and powerful people associated in some way with programs in the NBE. Whether or not the resources and clout is effectively used remains to be seen. Carl's has grandiose ideas but there is plenty of firepower available to make some good things happen if they harness their resources.

Carl believes that since several officers who are serving tours at the Naval Academy have background in intelligence and national defense that they will bring that experience to everyone in the Big East.

I thought the Big East already did that when they hired Tagliabue, and then wound up turning down a billion dollar contract.

The Navy is designing cleats with flubber souls for Big East teams. We will never lose an out of conference game again. Nick Williams was the only player allowed to test them out last year. He used them during the Buffalo game.
 
Not sure why the drama but didn't the Big East come out publicly and say they would listen to offers for Pitt and Syracuse to leave a few months ago? Maybe Pitt just waited until the commissioner left to decide and now things aren't going as fast as they planned. Look Pitt its quite simple...Save your attorney fees.. Write a check for twenty million , delete Big East number from cell phone.. Remove magnets from refrigerator..etc

I bet Pitt is suing the Big East to get out by 2013 because they are in dialogue with the Big 12.
 
We heard the B12 was targeting Pitt last year... do we know (factually) how far along those discussions got before they decided to go to the ACC?

We all know how this will go down. As soon as one school bails and get things going, all other schools will be like rats on a sinking ship looking for the nearest life jacket. We seen this being played out in the BE and the B12. Exact same thing will happen in the ACC.

yup agree. what i'm really hoping or is that a school like vt or md goes to the b12. if one of those 2 go with a bunch of acc schools to the b12, there a interesting outside shot then at uconn/ruty together getting a invite to the b10.

i havn't seen anything with uconns name and the b12 together.

i guess they are. thats not my thing...mine is be quiet, f the acc and wait for the b10.
