the helmets, both blue and white, are ghastly. To borrow a phase from the 2008 election, and before, putting a pink bow on them is like putting lipstick on a pig. Too bad that UConn's leadership didn't have the guts to tell Nike that these are horrible. Look really bad on tv, so let's just drop them and go all blue for the rest of the season. We need a Mike Keenan type coach for next year...someone who will simply tell Warde and his masters at Nike, "No, we aren't wearing that!"

The Mike Keenan Blues sweaters are awesome. It was like a Roller Hockey International sweater.

Helmets are awful!! I say go with a solid color...blue home, white away, keep the UCONN logo on the back but go the Ohio St and a few other teams route by adding a small decal when a player scores a touchdown or a QB sack, interception, fumble recovery, ect., to the sides of the helmet. Decal could be a paw print or a mini new dog face logo. I also think it might be cool if the individual's helmet had a small sticker for each bowl he played in during his 4 years and any conference championship game played in. That way each players helmet is unique and gives the recruits and underclassmen something to look at and long for. Incentive man!! Now before anyone spews out the obvious, " They have to be in one first", I'm talking future of course but something that could be incorporated at any time. It would be classy and would definitely be better than the cartoonish hat they are now wearing. Only thing I've seen that looks worse were those Court Jester uni's that Maryland wore a couple years back.

Bull$hit...Nike would merely design something else. They don't really care what teams where as long as they wear Nike. And when something is as roundly panned as this one, that as someone, I think upstater said looks like a pair of socks on tv, they will probably be happy to replace it. New day, new coach, new quarterback, new helmet. Simple.

The new helmets look great. The new logo looks great. This wasn't shoved down our throats by Nike.
