Williams' kneecaps look about 2" higher than Stokes', supporting your 'heels' theory. Plus, without the bun, Willams still looks about 1" shorter to me.

We can't apply the Icebear theory of relativity to this photo because both subjects appear to be the same distance from the lens, therefor I go along with the "heels theory.
