Phil Mushnick: What's your point?

In Mushnick's Sunday byline there was this in his food for thought zingers:

"Question for NCAA boss Mark Emmert: How can academic integrity be taken seriously, let alone ensured, when SMU, Houston, Tulsa, & Tulane play in the same conference as UConn & Temple?"

It is not a knock at UCONN but the NCAA. Mushnick has written articles about West Virginia and other schools and amount of travel and classes missed by student athletes due to travel. We had little or no choice as we were left at the altar when the music stopped. He feels like many of us that schools in same region should be in same conference if the NCAA really cared about academics for student athletes. Not going to happen but if NCAA really cared about the students if looking from perspective of schools with both D1 football and hoops, BC, UCONN, Cuse, Rutgers, Temple Pitt, Penn State, and West Virginia would all be in one conference not scattered among four different one, five if you include UMASS (as hoops in a conference while football on its own).

It's a legitimate comment about travel. Same could be said for major conference as well.

Not that Mushnick isn't a complete tool. He might be the original professional troll.
