Phee's stats are ridiculous. I don't know that any UConn player has ever had a better first 4 tournament games.

Let me revise that. I'm certain that statistically Napheesa Collier has had a better first four games than any UConn player ever. Averaging 3 blocks, 2 steals and 3 assists with 0.25 turnovers would be astonishing even if she weren't tearing it up shooting and rebounding. I don't think she's quite at the Maya, D, Bre level yet. But, man, it just keeps getting harder to say that with any conviction.

Ok, I did the research. For first two weekends, Maya's best year was 09 and Diana was 03. (I haven't researched Breanna, but she tended to save her best for the F4).

Maya and Diana were a bit better in terms of offensive production, as evidenced by a significantly better points per fga. However, Napheesa crushes them in rebounds, turnovers and blocks.

To my mind, Napheesa's numbers are clearly better.

Bear in mind that my original claim was only that Napheesa had the best first four games ever STATISTICALLY. This doesn't account for tons of stuff, like how much attention they drew from opposing defenses, quality of opponents, to what degree they "put the team on their shoulders." I would NOT claim that Napheesa had a better overall performance than Maya in 09 or D in 03. But purely based on stats I think she's a pretty clear winner.

If the Stats were presented to you without any Names associated and only Identified as Players A,B and C which Player would you choose?

Because of Rebounding, I would choose Player A which of course is Napheesa. Not enough of a difference in any of the other Stats to sway my decision to another player. Because I know the Names of the players, I would choose DT as she made everyone around her a better player. Knowing the Names made a difference in who I would have selected.

Outside of that UCLA game where KLS had something like 6 turnovers, she's played very well with the exception of the one area that's typically her strength, her shooting.
