I don't see the big deal. It's not like there was some huge press conference. They released a statement. 48 hours does not magically change anything. The tragic events still happened. People all around the world and in the US have carried on business as normal (or relatively normal). For example, the NBA had a full slate of games Friday night, including in nearby New York. The fact that a couple of schools, including ones located in New York and Providence, made an announcement really is not a big deal to me.

Not much more to be said if they were NFL franchises, but they were not. These are religious institutions. That put ego and pride as to the timing of an announcement ahead of any semblance of humanity or proportionality.

And in its own sense, that is also a tragedy.

You are incorrect.

Everything I've seen is that the presidents released a "joint statement". Please point to where this huge press conference was and how I was wrong.
