Just wow. I know this team is worst in the BE, but this is ridiculous. The only reason ND is even in this game is because they get wide open looks for three. This Uconn team is so much more talented physically that it would be embarassing to lose to this ND team. Let them take it to the lane against Alex and AD all day, shut off the three!! Stop chasing the guy driving and rotate out to the open guy sitting there perched at the three. The only way ND stays in this game is with the open jumper. I mean, 15 out of their first 17 pts by the three and we can't figure it out?

On the bright side, Alex is playing great.

Honestly, look at how they got most of their open 3 pointers. Most of the time it has been poor defense from Shabazz. Hate to call him out, but everyone else seems to be defending the perimeter well except him. I'm not sure why he goes under screens EVERY time (especially at his height). He needs to work on that, and stop gambling for steals.

It's the whole team, not just Shabazz. I've seen Jeremy and Niels lose their guy multiple times.

Yeah I don't understand why he goes under screens either... Don't we WANT them to drive / funnel them to bigs? They only have 1 or 2 two pointers so far, why? Because they can't score in there

And on the offensive end, the ball should touch a big's hands every time down the floor - we should not be jump shooting against ND and these clunky interior guys. I mean, where is the coaching in this one - there are such clear advantages/weaknesses in this matchup. ND is what they always are, a unathletic jump shooting team. We are bigger and more athletic all over the floor. Make them be athletic/unnatural and take it to the rim and get the ball into our bigs.

I think it's pretty clear that although guys like Tyler and Neils bring toughness/great work ethic, they are far from the most talented options we have out there. This team needs to start working a rotation with more Roscoe/Deandre.

OK JC, take a look at the box. ND - 31% from the floor and leading. 5-11 from three, 4-18 from 2. Make the adjustment. It's the story of this season. We are outrebounding ND 21-15. How are we losing?

Alex and AD have 9 FG attempts between the two of them, and I'd think easily more than half on offensive rebounds. Those two should be dominant down low against this ND team. There is no way we should have more fouls than ND.

What is the deal with Shabazz's defense this year? Last year, he was a pest. He's be up on the opposing guard and break the rythym of the opposing PG bringing it up the floor with on the ball pressure. He'd get burned once in awhile, but make up for it. This year, he's just getting burned.

Don't understand the pulling up for jumpers early in the possession. Really doing nothing to establish the bigs down low (guess they forgot about second half against West Virginia?). Napier looks slow and a bit hurt. Also, without Boatright, he might be trying to save conserve some energy/fouls.

Notre Dame can take 20 threes this half for all I care. As long as we grab those misses ND is donezo.

We started the game feeding the bigs. Drummond put up weak crap, and Oriakhi decided he was hot and started shooting 15-foot fadeaways. Olander's help D on one of the Atkins drives was comical - turned his back and basically escorted Atkins down the lane.

Great first possession - all day long. 2nd possession, AO fed way too far from the bucket. He needs to establish post closer to the block. He's a one dribble guy max.

The other thing I've noticed with this team - bigs need to look up the floor off some rebounds once in awhile and have vision up the floor. On one rebound you could see a few outlets breaking up the floor and a clear opportunity to push the ball up the floor and AO was looking for the closest guard to just shovel it off to. Let's run the break.

Jeremy having a bad game. AO having his best game of the season so far. Good thing ND's three's aren't falling because they are getting looks.

This is going to sound crazy but I have more faith in AO hitting from 15 than hitting a layup.

Emeka and Voskuhl were great for those outlets in the past.

Last play was a clear case of the AO stone hands. That was actually a great pass where if handled, easy dunk. He needs to catch that ball.

Great put back by Roscoe - that's the guy he needs to be. Resourceful - his points need to come by ways of that, right place right time, and open looks in his range.

I actually thought that was not a good pass by Giffey - threw the ball 50 mph behind the backboard. Would have been a great finish if he was able to complete that one. I'd have to see it again, though.

Great big men usually have the soft mitts to collect that kind of pass. It was thrown in traffic, but was there.

Man do I feel better about this team when I see guys like Roscoe and AO coming to play - hate relying on freshmen. This game feels a lot more like what I expected of this team this year.

Shabazz is scaring me to death with the basketball - the ball has too much tendency to look loose, whether it's a mis-dribble or just gets away from him. Just hoists horrible quick three that leads to an ND break when this team starts putting ND away - kid really has to grow up at the point if this team is going to make any headway, man.

They might want to figure out at some point that Atkins is the one guy for Notre Dame capable of scoring

For as hard as AO's hands can look, man are AD's soft/fly paper.

Giffey having a great game.

Don't like that Lamb has fallen in love with his jumper this year....where are those great drives to the hoop, and teardrop finishes?

Jeremy's body language looks awful today, but it looks like the rest of the guys are coming together, AO, RS and NG today. Some nostalgia for last year.
