This will be moved to Boneyard MD soon, but I'm just curious if anyone has history within their family of Pericarditis/Dressler Syndrome. My mom had a heart attack two months ago, is in care with a team of Yale doctors, but this is the one mystery that seems to be causing her the most distress. Basically, she has chest pressure (pericarditis) since the heart attack and is taking medication for it and it's also preventing her from getting exercise and starting rehab, which will make her heart stronger. I drove her back to the ER on Saturday due to chest pain, but it was still just the pericarditis, which is, in a sense, harmless. Different doctors, from the same medical team, are telling her to take different medications, so obviously, since my mom just wants to follow a plan, the lack of clear plan is causing her distress. Any insight on pericarditis post-heart attack?
