I should also qualify that I am a pyromaniac and really, really enjoy starting, maintaining and watching fires. This stove is designed to throw a ton of heat and be run efficiently once cranking. It won't beat a pellet stove economically, but I find it much nicer to look at and, as I said, I like playing with fire.
