Xavier Rathan-Mayes (CIA Bounce 2013) – Rathan-Mayes rattled off an impressive list of suitors including Florida, Florida State, Kansas, Connecticut, Baylor, Illinois, NC State, Alabama, and Kentucky stating that all but Kentucky have offered. It should come as no surprise that the two schools believed to be the leaders for Andrew Wiggins in Kentucky and Florida State make the cut as Wiggins and Rathan-Mayes have been friends since the age of 3 and are interested in a partnership at the next level. I don’t want to put words in Rathan-Mayes’ mouth and say he is waiting on a Kentucky offer but it sure sounded like if the Wildcats pulled the trigger it could have a major impact on his decision process.
Cheick Diallo (Team Scan 2015) – After just bursting onto the scene within the last few months Diallo has already received scholarship offers from high major programs Arizona and Rutgers. In addition to those other powers such as Syracuse, St. John’s, Connecticut, Louisville, Kentucky, and Iowa State have called Diallo’s coaches to express interest. The super talented big man will likely have his choice of every program in America before it’s all said and done.
Sindarius Thornwell (Team United 2013) – Thornwell, who will be teaming up with Williams at Oak Hill academy next year, cited an improved level of competition as his reasoning. He acknowledged that South Carolina high school basketball doesn’t have a very good reputation and wants a chance to prove himself against the best. Plenty of the best are recruiting him to play at the next level as South Carolina, Tennessee, Connecticut, Syracuse, Florida, Memphis, Providence, Villanova, and “the entire ACC except Duke, UNC, and Maryland” are all involved.
