Especially things like holding the door for someone, letting someone with a fussy child go ahead of you and line, letting cars in, etc. It “costs” you nothing but a few seconds it makes the world a little more pleasant. For what it’s worth, I’m also a big advocate for civility, tiny things like greeting people you pass in close proximity, or standing when a woman arrives or leaves a table.
