As a newcomer, I was wondering: Is it still too early for those hardy, unnamed Boneyarders who, during the lengthy "UConn's 5th starter" discussions, went way out on a limb on or about August 3, 2015 strongly endorsing Napheesa Collier for that spot, and explaining why, to stop by here for their good old Boneyard pat on the back? Is promoting pooch and puppy pats for prescient prognostication permitted and proper?

Just asking.............

Bones very nicely played since you would be essentially patting yourself on the back. I feel salty since I will not be getting a pat on the back-I picked Butler. I also feel obligated to point out: 1) Butler won the poll overwhelmingly 75% and she may have been the 5th Starter had she not been injured. 2) Gabby finished second with 11% and was in fact The 5th Starter at the beginning of the season.

If you are still determined to hand out pats on the back then you need to only hand out 2.5 pats because although Collier received 9 votes only you, JoePgh & Intpseeker- (Maybe) gave a prediction that Collier would be the 5th starter. JoePgh was by far the best justification and is abbreviated below.

My vote would be for Napheesa,…..
So the poll is really asking which player will most distinguish herself in practice. Based on what many of us saw in the U19's, I think Napheesa will be that one. But I would say the probabilities favor Napheesa.

Even though Geno tends not to start frosh, I believe that the team will be faster and more potent offensively with Napheesha than with KLS or Butler. I think Collier will be the cream of the new crop. Question is how soon will this happen.

We got to see this summer what Napheesa could do against high level talent. She is a force, but I voted for Butler.

Napheesa is and will always be the better defensive player. However, Katie Lou is and will always be the better offensive player, including passing.

Hey Guys - interesting thread here. Just left the Florida over Tenn thread and those predictions from the summer were even more "right on." Coco, you did a great job pulling up old posts to verify the 5th starter. Don't know specifically who predicted the Tenn woes, but there were lots of questions about Holly's coaching, DD's presence, player control, etc. I think the Tenn scene was hit dead-on by the BY crew!!
