Pat noticed that a young black kid had an expensive backpack.

So, of course, he assumed the worst and tried to imply it. Sadly, it turns out that sometimes people buy expensive gifts for their kids which deprives malevolent sportswriters of their day in the sun. (UCLA , amazingly, had to look into it and cleared both Muhammed and Anderson.)

Memo to Pat - write something about those expensive headphones kids always seem to have. I bet you'll find some malfeasance there!

(Note - This article never gets written if a Louisville player has a Gucci backpack. Peyton Siva could park a Bentley on Forde's mom and Pat wouldn't say a word about it.)

(Note #2 - While everyone is entitled to their own tastes, I believe anyone who buys a $1,000 backpack should be stuffed into it and thrown over Niagara Falls.)

You can buy a knockoff for about $20 all over Los Angeles. That would be my excuse if I was Shabazz

not sure how Forde isn't being fried by his peers over this, Forde's stance is essentially how was a Black kid able to afford something expensive. Newsflash for Forde, not everyone Black is dirt poor and struggling to scrape by. Was Forde even aware that his sister is a pro tennis player and has an endorsement deal with adidas(which she probably got because of Shabazz but thats besides the point)?

How about we just throw Forde(and, for that matter, all of Yoohoohoo) over Niagra Falls? In fact, even though they work for CBS, lets send Goodman and Parrish along for the ride. The only catch is I'm guessing there is likely a big fine, and maybe even jail time, involved for violation of most of the environmental statutes currently on the books.

GO HUSKIES!!! BEAT THE SCARLET KNIGHTS!!!

Pat Forde should have kept his mouth shut......

Having said that a 1K Gucci backpack? White, Black, Asian, Indian, rich, blue collar whatever, unless you live in Long Island in the summer you aren't seeing too many of those and most hoops kids would rather have Nike. We'll never know but it smells beyond fishy........

Couture/Gucci clothing is more prevalent in the LA metro area. Mauconn are you telling us you have never owned a Gucci back pack? I find that hard to believe! You and I are old school! :)

You all are missing what's really important here - that someone actually spent 1K for a duck*ing backpack.

I don't like him just for that.

How do we know the backpack is real? My teenage daughter has a very expensive Chanel handbag that she bought in the upstairs secret back room on Canal Street for 40 bucks.

Life is simple. Simplicity is wonderful. To be enjoyed. Like $20 knockoffs. Some people over-complicate it. Like high-horse Pat Forde and some greedy lawyers. Pat just needs to be treated with V and C and he comes down to earth. Then he becomes simple-minded like everyone else should be.

Some famous coach also gets to impregnate his assistant's wife up a restaurant table while both were drunk, then abort the baby and then have her sent into prison through a sting and admiringly coaxes his players to look at him as a moral leader, while the media is soft-pedaling looking the other way. Then the same media attacks an HoF coach who did not have a direct relationship with a would-be agent who allegedly paid for an expelled athlete's surgery who never gets to play for the school, and some 5 years later is banned from post-season involvement while assessing the full brunt of the punishment on post-enrolled athletes who were still in high school when the supposed infractions and low APR were committed. This happens all the time because we have journalists who are sanctimonious liars who are probably someone else's hired front writers. When the NCAA collapses, these paid journalists will be flushed down the drain with them. Time to get a second career, the new victims on sight up next. Same, same, same. Just put the athletes on merit-based salaries. Solved. Lower the salary of coaches such that they are below university presidents. Solved. Dissolve the NCAA, form your own watchdog organization and negotiate independently with CBS, NBC, ESPN, and other media outlets. Solved. Use Olympic-style performance-drug enhancers testing protocol across all of sports. Solved. Millions of money saved. Solved. Thousands of student-athletes lives saved. Solved. Ban one-and-done gaming from all of sports. Solved.
