Anyone who has us as anything is assuming we beat Providence. I think we need to beat Pitt too. But absolutley we need to beat PC. Lose that and we need to think about enjoying the NIT where at least we'll have a couple of home games.

Bracket note: Bracket projections are always based on "as if the tournament started today." I am not predicting how teams will finish the season.

I listened to Matt Norlander's podcast with Jerry Palm, which was recorded Sunday night. Palm stated that Uconn can afford to lose one of the next three games (assuming the third game is Tuesday of the BET) and would still likely get in.

I think coaches of teams on the top 2 lines would prefer we drop to 11/12, or rise to 6.

It's difficult to prepare for UConn because they are so talented and you don't know which team will show up. You also don't know if they'll beat the team they're playing (given their erratic nature), and so you can't prepare. But you can if you get the long weekend.

Still, if they are a 7-10 seed, they can beat the 1 or 2, but will not likely do so.

How high can UConn go if they win out? How low can they go and still be in the tournament? Could UConn be in a play-in game?

Bottom line is if UConn wins 2 more games we are probably in the tournament. If we win 3 games or more, we are definately in the tournament. And in reality, if we cannot win 2 more games, we do not deserve to be in the tournament.

What one seed would be scared of this UCONN team? And on what basis? this is a team that has struggled its way through the Big East schedule, is something like 5-10 since the new year, and has seldom shown the ability to play a whole game, and has been blown out of the building by Syracuse, Louisville and Marquette...One failed comeback against a team that figured the game was over makes us that frightening?

It's not as if the other 8-11 seeds are world beaters. There is no doubt that we have struggled but that doesn't change the fact that there are more talented players on our roster than any of the other 8-11 seeds that will be in this tournament. Call up Izzo, K, or Calipari and ask them if they'd rather see us in the second round, or teams like Purdue, Seton Hall and Saint Louis.

Lets make the tournament first before we talk about scaring any 1 seed

True, but the highlighted is a bit of an overstatement.

You could also say: a UConn team that demolished the number two team in the country in the second half.

Would you rather see UConn in the second round as a 1 seed or SMU/Iowa St/Memphis/Cal/etc.

Unlike last year, this squad hasn't shown the ability to beat a really good team. It has show that it can lose to worse teams and shown that it will fall apart for 10-15 minutes in every game keeping the outcome in doubt.
