True, but this is the culture nowadays with respect to popular athletes and celebrities. I chuckle at some of these "groups" when they think they're favourite has been slighted. Tribalism has been amped up so many levels in the last 5 - 10 years because it's so profitable.

Paige’s season high in turnovers this year - her first WNBA season - was 4. Only 4.

Against swarming and collapsing defenses and adjusting to the pace of play, she never had more that that. It was a hugely underrated part of her performance this year - taking care of the ball and averaging 5.5 assists with a 2.7 ratio, without many weapons around her.

Give her a post scorer and a spot up shooter or two for “easy assists” and she’d be higher than 5.5. She played off the ball too much to get up to 8 or 9. But 7 would certainly have been reasonable.

Paige could have averaged a lot more assists if the players on her team could shoot. One of the worse shooting teams, they don't know what a pick and roll is, so most of her assists were by feeding the 3 pointers. Also, I wouldn't be surprised if the Wings were near the top of the league with one on one unassisted baskets. On a decent shooting team, she could have averaged 8 assists a game, no doubt.

Just asking. I'm a humangous fan: Should Paige have made more of an impact on the team's success? Were they that bad? Can a guard impact a game like a forward or center can?
Sorry, gotta say it: 1979-1980, Larry's rookie year. 32 game turnaround, an NBA record for decades.
I know, they had Maxwell, Tiny, Big Red, and some role players.
He made everyone better. I think Paige can be that in the W.
