Paige signs with Unrivaled

Isn’t Paige also an investor in Unrivaled?

Even better, it looks like she was given equity.

"Bueckers signed a name, image, and likeness deal with Unrivaled to become the first NCAA athlete to receive ownership equity in a league. "

Lots of heavy hitters who have invested in the league. Carmelo Anthony, Michael Phelps, ESPN executive John Skipper, Juju, Dawn ...

It is well deserved and all her hard work will now pay off for Paige. Her FUTURE is a financial guarantee and her life will be one of giving and sharing of her bounty. I predict a staggering success for Paige for years and years to come.. GO PAIGE!!!!! GO HUSKIES!!!!!!

I believe Geno is also an investor. When you stop and think about it, how could he not be?

Just me: I don't regard 3 on 3 basketball as 'real'. I'm delighted for the equity/big money
Paige will be receiving. Championships are...imo...for NCAA titles/WNBA titles/Olympic
titles...hope she wins a bunch of them. Are there championships in the Olympics for 3 on 3?
Uhh...if so...that would counter my argument. Are they contemplating one on one down the road...promoting
it as 'Best Player in the World'? That sounds how they would hype it...no? The fact that being the best one-on-one
player does NOT mean you are the best player in the world....they know that, don't they? Just as I am hoping they aren't planning to lower the number of players on a soccer team for
a title while keeping 'real soccer' numbers as usual.

With all these hoops...stay healthy!

The Olympics has 3x3 basketball. In the 2024 Olympics, the US team of Hamby, Howard, Burdick, and Van Lith won bronze. In 2020 USA won gold with a team of Dolson, Gray, Plum, and Young.

Hoops: are they having it in 2028 as well? If so then it'll be permanent...probably....surely?

It seems that the players that go to Europe start earlier than Unrivaled? Paige will be done with the WNBA by mid-September, mid-October if in playoffs. Then approx 3 months off before Unrivaled starts in mid-January. I would also guess that her MPG will be lower than at UConn, as she won't be asked to do it all.

3 on 3 basketball is as "real" as 3 on 3 overtime hockey.
It's something different, and clearly super popular. Just like Pickleball. When that first came out, I was like WTF? Tournaments, etc. Smacked of Axe Throwing and Cornhole leagues. Yikes. Never mind curling - how is that even a sport? But... if enough people are interested in it, it will grow and flourish...

Personally I love the 3x3. Fast paced, exciting, great seeing all the former UConn stars shine - what's not to like??
