UConn women's basketball freshman Paige Bueckers swept the BIG EAST weekly awards, being named Player and Freshman of the Week on Monday.

If Maddy Siegrist didn't get a POW honor last year, I would agree that they only did it because they felt like they had to.

But Paige's numbers last week couldn't be ignored and I'm glad they gave the credit that was due.

Thirty point games however should not be taken lightly. I would guess that only 15-30% of UConn women player ever score 30 points in a game during their 4 year career. A lot of the great iconic players in UConn lore never scored 30 points in any game.

Thirty point games however should not be taken lightly. I would guess that only 15-30% of UConn women player ever score 30 points in a game during their 4 year career. A lot of the great iconic players in UConn lore never scored 30 points in any game.

The 30 points is impressive, but she just about score half of her teams total points, that % has to be close to a record. And against the number 1 team in the country.

SH is playing well and AEH is playing very well but I think we learned our lesson letting opposing players get hot from 3. Still, I worry about us being flat after the SC war.
