The interesting thing about that as it's through 2022, just one year before their media deal and GoR is up in 2023. He's also the president of the PAC12 enterprises, the company that runs the PAC12 network. Could they be looking for a new distribution method?

Nothing big, but interesting on the timing.

I would think that they have been rethinking distribution...

Media analysts estimate that Pac-12 Networks are in just 15 million homes while Big Ten and SEC Networks are available in many more households. Due to the distribution, Pac-12 member schools receive $1.5 million per year while the SEC Network pays $7.5 million. The Big Ten Network shells out even more.

PAC schools used to complain that no one was staying up to watch their games, and thus they weren't getting respect. Now even if you wanted to stay up, you can't see 1/2 of them (or more) since they're on a channel that no one east of the Rockies gets. Leaving aside the revenue issue, the lack of visibility is going to catch up with them. I think they're gonna have to add some midwestern teams to get a wider audience.

The PAC12N really screwed up by having 5 (or however many it is) regional networks in addition to its national network. Nobody needs 5+ PAC12 networks. Make it 1 channel put everyone on there and get your distribution. I don't need PAC12 Mountain in Charlotte, NC.
