This is the biggest domino to fall yet for all Husky hoops fans... Geno has been suggesting the season will be delayed, and this seems to reinforce this idea. So disappointing to think we might not see a full season of what promised to be a very exciting team to watch.
Fingers crossed that we get more games than it seems this year. Late Nov seems far away, but 2021 seems much farther!

Probably will result in the entire year being canceled. It might be hard to play all the sports at one time in the spring. Almost as easy to just wait for the next season. Although it might play havoc in respect to integrating the two incoming high school classes in one year with respect to available scholarships. Probably the NCAA will create a one year moratorium on scholarhip numbers.

Well it certainly solves the problem of those having to sit out a year for transfers. Everyone sits out one year.

The states that refused to take action early on, which are now experiencing massive rates of infection, now have four months to accept science and modern public health practices. If they do what Europe did, then there is an outside chance that in January, something could come out of the season.

Something.

It has to be an 'all states' action. The virus knows no state lines. There are 250K peeps in Sturgis right now. Next week they are going to be in 50 states. In 2 weeks we are going to see a pop in cases.
Science is like magic, but it isn't.

I doubt people in this country are disciplined enough.

It might be pretty hard for Fudd to not pick UConn if she has 4 years instead of 3 to play with Paige, that’s the only positive thing I can think about if the season is canceled.

Or 2 years instead of 3. Based on age/birthday (10/20/01) Paige will be eligible for the 2023 WNBA draft, regardless of whether that is immediately following her junior year or sophomore (eligibility) year.

This is false. The actual data says otherwise. The death rates per million are higher in europe except for states like NY, NJ, CT, RI and MA and a few others.

Coronavirus Update (Live): 20,786,235 Cases and 751,553 Deaths from COVID-19 Virus Pandemic - Worldometer

Death rates are higher in the earlier places because less was known how to treat the virus... Remdesivir, steroids, laying patients on stomach, etc.. Plus they had less time to implement preventive measures. "Actual data" can be used to "prove" many different things. Plus, @Fairfield Fan said "massive rates of infection" not deaths...

We know that the Fla Governor censored the data. We have also seen the same done at the federal level. Nothing put out by the government in a war/epidemic environment can be trusted. They are more concerned with controlling things than in curing things.

Germany, France, Belgium, and Spain they accepted "the science" and yet are having the same problems as many of those states you talk about. My Sister-in-Law lives in Germany and she stated that it is worse now then what it was earlier.

Yet we now have at least three major Pharma's that are in phase three of testing for a vaccine, which is a minimum of 4 years ahead of normal procedures to getting to such a phase. Phase three is the final phase prior to an actual vaccine release. Currently the Federal Govt has ordered a total of 500 million doses of the vaccines once they get approved.

And we fervently hope the shortcuts they've been taking in the process don't result in undiscovered serious side effects in the vaccines that are approved...

Especially since our leaders have indemnified those corporations against any lawsuits if people start dying from the vaccine.

What do YOU want a vaccine that might kill some people that are allergic to it or have more people that die from not having a vaccine. You have people who die from the flu shot because they are allergic to it, but you don't have lawsuits over it.

There are always chances of side effects, the first flu vaccine that came out had serious side effects. Something has to be done to help get the US, heck the World economies back to almost normal.

I'm not talking about outliers. I'm talking about corruption, about men in suits in some office tower having the final say about what vaccines will be approved. Right now I read the news and see that even if the Russian vaccine is 100% effective the American people would never have access to it unless they travel out of the US. Why? Politics.
And what if the big pharma comes up with a vaccine that kills your family and you discover it was approved by a political appointee who gets a 7 figure job lobbying for big pharma a month after signing the approval? How will you feel knowing that it was profit considerations that killed your children and now you can't even use the law to seek some justice?

Anyone who buys the propaganda that big pharma puts on TV saying they have the welfare of mankind foremost on their agenda is being foolish and gullible. Do you remember Thalidomide? It was "carefully" tested too.

Then be MORE concise in your statements. Blame the politicians "both sides" on the vaccines done by other countries, they are the one's that established the law on vaccines discovered outside of the U.S., they have to go through the same phases approved by the Congress, and I DON'T buy any propaganda on big pharma.
